Learn the basics of kayaking and good tips and techniques for
whitewater kayaking
This training clinic is designed for the first time whitewater kayaker or experienced
kayaker who wants to train a bit, particularly for river and whitewater kayaking.
A highly experienced instructor will train you in the best techniques of kayaking in a
relaxed and friendly manner to help you become a capable kayaker in a short period and
confident when you get out on the river.
The clinic goes for 3 to 4 days.
On the first day on the lake you are taught the basics, such as the eskimo roll and a
variety of basic paddle strokes, braces and rescue techniques.
The second and third day will be practice on the river and you will learn particular river
techniques such as entering Eddie, getting out of Eddie and much more.
The course can go for 3 or 4 days depending on how much training the instructor and student
believe they need and depending on the level of difficulty of the rafting on the river they
are paddling on. It could be an extra day on the lake or an extra day on the river. The cost
may vary accordingly and can be discussed with us.
The training river can vary but usually It is on the Lower Seti River which can take up to
two hours to travel to, so customers will camp overnight on the banks of the river.
This trip and training experience is enjoyable and fun and all involved, instructor and
student have a good time. It well set you up well for any future kayaking or whitewater
adventure.
We assure you that by the third or day of kayak clinic you will be able to run the river,
read whitewater and will be a good paddler.
